Emily Maxim Lamm is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. Her practice focuses on employment litigation, counseling, and investigations. Emily has particular expertise advising companies on regulatory compliance with the legal and policy developments surrounding artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies across the employment lifecycle. Leveraging her deep knowledge of rapidly evolving AI-related frameworks, Emily strategically counsels technology-focused companies on the development and implementation of policies, risk mitigation strategies, and best practices. Emily has also represented technology companies involving allegations of discrimination related to the use of algorithms and AI. Emily frequently speaks and writes on AI issues in employment and holds a program certificate from Wharton Online in Artificial Intelligence for Decision Making.

Emily Co-Chairs the LGBTQ+ Subcommittee and Women’s Subcommittee of the Washington, D.C. office, is an Associate Trustee for the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs, and is a Co-Chair of the Associates Committee of the D.C. Chapter of the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law. Emily was selected as a member of Law360’s 2022 Diversity & Inclusion Editorial Advisory Board and maintains an active pro bono practice focused on LGBTQ+ issues.

Emily graduated Order of the Coif from Vanderbilt Law School in 2019, where she served as the Managing Editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review. During law school, she was awarded the Lightfoot, Franklin & White Award for Best Appellate Brief, received the Scholastic Excellence Award in Employment Discrimination Law, and won the LGBT Bar Association’s Michael Greenberg Writing Competition. In 2016, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, in Biology from Denison University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in her junior year. Emily was awarded the Denison University President’s Medal and the James T. Glerum Jr. Presidential Top Student Athlete Award as a member of the Cross Country and Track and Field teams.
