Sarah’s approach to compliance has been to focus on the commercial opportunity. Over the years Sarah has advised on lawful data harvesting and utilisation, business intelligence and management of large datasets, digital marketing law and contracting with suppliers in the digital and technology space from both the supplier and client perspectives. Sarah has recently takenon the role as Global DPO for ITV where she is responsible for building a global compliance programme as well as supporting the business’s digital transformation, navigating the compliance issues and seeking to find innovative ways to use data compliance to the business’s advantage. Sarah’s previous experience includes supporting the development of a fintech start- up as it created an online equity trading platform and has spent the last six years working in the insurance industry, advising on all aspects of digital and data protection laws. Sarah has been recognised by the Global Data Review, in-house counsel as one of the key in-house data law talents in 2019 and has been nominated and won several FT Innovative Lawyer Awards for work undertaken by her and her team of digital and data lawyers.
