Rachel Jacobs is a member of the Management Board and the Group General Counsel of Springer Nature, a leading academic, educational and professional publisher opening doors to discovery – enabling millions of researchers, educators, clinicians and other professionals to access, trust and make sense of the latest insights. [Rachel is passionate about the importance of scientific discovery and education having worked as teacher in Nepal and holding an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science from the University of Leeds.]
A recognised leader, Rachel has extensive experience of managing legal and compliance functions in complex international businesses and deploying technology to transform the delivery of legal services. She combines this with her broader management board responsibilities and in particular uses her influence to advance ESG strategies. Rachel is responsible for Diversity Equity & Inclusion at Springer Natures and believes that embracing and valuing our differences is the key to unlocking our collective potential. Prior to Springer Nature, Rachel was a corporate lawyer at CMS Cameron McKenna and held various senior positions in the legal team at the FTSE listed media business, Informa plc. Despite living in London for many years she is still a proud Yorkshire woman at heart. When not at work she spends as much time as possible in the fresh air, enjoying adventures with her husband David, their son and her two stepdaughters.
