I joined UNISON as the Data Protection and Information Officer in June. UNISON is the UK’s biggest union with 1.3 million members of which 70% are women and some of the lowest paid workers in the country. I have had a varied career starting out as a journalist and worked in media and marketing and then studied law at Birkbeck Law School. I worked in local government for 18 years and qualified as a solicitor in 2008. I am an intensely curious dyslexic thinker, and this informs my approach to problem solving.
