Ali acts as legal counsel in Barclay’s Group Financial Crime Legal team, where she advises the bank’s global businesses on money laundering, sanctions, bribery and corruption, and engagement with law enforcement. Her practice covers a broad range of advisory work; management of complex, cross-border investigations; and external policy engagement, when it involves a financial crime element. Aiming to broaden her transatlantic experience, Ali recently passed the New York bar exam. Finally, in 2017-18, Ali spent 6 months seconded to the National Crime Agency’s Legal Department, working in their Investigations and International department; the first secondment of its kind.
