Frances Schlosstein is President and CEO of The TBLS Group, a transaction-focused environmental advisory and sustainability consulting practice. The ESG (environmental social governance) team is comprised of sustainability leaders who help local and global companies to develop, monetize and achieve sustainability, biodiversity and other ESG goals. Her environmental due diligence team, comprised of senior executives from environmental consulting and environmental insurance disciplines, have valued over $50 billion of Natural Resource Damage, Superfund, and sediment liability as subject matter experts. TBLS is known for the use of environmental/financial modeling and risk mitigation strategies to calculate corporate reserves, enhance negotiations, settle disputes and accelerate transactions for environmentally challenged properties.
Under Schlosstein’s leadership, TBLS has provided due diligence on over 35 Private Equity Deals and served as expert witness and settlement consultant on numerous Natural Resource Damages and CERCLA matters as well as emerging contaminants inclusive of PFAS. As a certified member of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) TBLS is eligible to for diversity contracts and has helped global companies, municipalities and private equity groups to monetize environmental matters.
Schlosstein founded The TBLS Group in 2008 as a cohort of environmental and sustainability experts. In 2014 she added the Environmental Advisory Group to bring environmental liability valuation services to clients.
Between 2008 and 2011, TBLS served as a primary consultant to Bluefield Holdings, Inc., an environmental credit bank, funded by a $6B pension fund. In partnership with corporate members of the Chemistry Council of New Jersey and with support of State and Federal Trustees, Schlosstein and her team provided low-cost restoration solutions for settling existing Natural Resource Damage claims.
Prior to TBLS, Ms. Schlosstein headed the U.S. operations of a Siemens high-tech spinoff. In this capacity, she built a national sales team, established channel partners (including Network Appliance and IBM) and generated the first $10 million in revenues and reference customers. These included State Farm Insurance, the State of Kentucky, Glaxo-Smith Kline and Ford Motor Company. Schlosstein achieved these milestones while taking the company through its first acquisition. The company is now owned by McAfee. During this time Schlosstein testified in front of Congress on internet security and served on the technology committee of the US Chamber of Commerce. Her banking experience includes Vice President roles at Citibank and PNC-BlackRock
Schlosstein holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies and master’s degree in business and communications from the University of Dayton. She also holds master’s certifications in sustainability from Fairleigh Dickenson University and a certificate in Global Sustainability Issues and Environmental Policy from INCAE Business School in Costa Rica.
Ms. Schlosstein recently served as board member of the New York Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Cares and as co-chair of the ACG Cup, a competition for aspiring dealmakers in area MBA programs.
