LaKisha M. Kinsey-Sallis is a partner in the Tampa office. LaKisha has extensive experience representing private and public sector employers of all sizes and across several industries including hospitality, retail, healthcare, education, public housing, and technology. Her experience includes, but is not limited to, litigating collective and class actions as well as single-plaintiff claims, providing day-to-day advice on workplace issues, defending charges before administrative agencies, developing and reviewing handbooks, and offering preventive strategies through training and risk assessments before and after lawsuits.

LaKisha has appeared before various state and federal courts to defend claims arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII, Family & Medical Leave Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act, and other federal and state employment laws. She has also developed a niche in the education setting and regularly appears before administrative and state agencies to defend claims arising under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. LaKisha also advises educational professionals on issues arising under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and Title IX.

LaKisha is very active in her local community and uses her involvement to bridge connections between her professional passions and love for volunteer work. She is a member of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce Leadership Tampa Class of 2018 and Women of Influence Committee, a Board Member of The Spring of Tampa Bay, a Community Action Coordinator with the Junior League of Tampa, Vice Chair of Florida Bar’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee and Member of the Federal Bar Association’s Special Task Force on Diversity and Inclusion. She also gives of her time to various local voluntary bar associations in the Tampa community.
