Jennifer Abernathy is the director of data privacy and compliance counsel for AAR CORP. In this role, Jennifer designs and implements AAR’s global privacy program and advises on privacy and compliance legal matters. She also established the data governance committee at AAR and currently serves as chairperson. Her previous experience includes more than twelve years as in-house counsel and chief compliance officer for a financial institution where she designed, implemented, and managed a comprehensive compliance program, was an executive sponsor of data governance, and provided general legal advice to all areas of the business.
Jennifer is admitted to practice law in Illinois. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University as a full Medallion Scholar, and she acquired a Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
Jennifer is accredited as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US and CIPP/E) and Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
