Sally Guido is Director, Assistant General Counsel at Capital One where she advises on unfair, deceptive, and abusive acts and practices (“UDAAP”), marketing and advertising across all channels, sales practices, sweepstakes and contests, and regulatory change management. She works with Legal and business teams, Compliance, Audit, and other risk management teams to determine appropriate UDAAP risk management and standards that comply with federal and state law. She also develops and communicates legal marketing standards, training, and other advice to Capital One and its subsidiaries. Ms. Guido also advises Capital One’s governmental affairs team on proposed and new legislation and regulation impacting these areas, and consults with the company’s transactions team about potential issues in proposed deals and new acquisitions.

Before joining Capital One, Ms. Guido was an associate litigating consumer class actions at the plaintiffs’ firm of Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll. Her cases were brought under federal and state laws and related in particular to issues involving data privacy, false advertising, breach of warranty, and other types of deceptive business practices, as well as defective products. Previously a litigation associate at Proskauer LLP, Ms. Guido brings a unique perspective and relevant complex litigation experience, including experience in antitrust, securities, sports, and intellectual property litigation.

Ms. Guido received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Psychology and Political Science from the University of Southern California.
