Andrea Gildea is a senior legal executive with more than 20 years of experience across financial services, fintech, and payments. She currently serves as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Hyundai Capital America, the captive finance arm supporting the Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia brands, where she leads the legal function across corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and consumer finance.
Earlier in her career, she was Global Head of Legal at Wise PLC, where she led the company's 2021 London Stock Exchange IPO, and served as Assistant General Counsel at CLS Group, the systemically important FX settlement system, where she managed the Alice Corp. v. CLS Bank patent dispute ultimately decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.
She began her career at Davis Polk & Wardwell and Covington & Burling, following a federal clerkship with the Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Her expertise spans corporate governance, securities law, capital markets, data privacy, and global expansion. She is admitted to practice in New York, qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales, and registered as in-house counsel in California.
