Amira is a senior legal executive with more than 20 years of experience, including more than 15 years in-house in the technology industry. She is currently Senior Director and Assistant General Counsel at Pinterest, where she leads the company’s global Employment Law, Corporate Compliance and Ethics function. A trusted advisor to Pinterest’s C-suite and senior leadership team, Amira counsels on complex business, workforce and enterprise risk matters and presents to the Board of Directors.
Amira joined Pinterest as the company’s first employment law attorney and built and scaled the function from the ground up. Her work spans high-stakes employment litigation and investigations, workforce strategy and restructurings, executive matters, and emerging legal issues, including the impact of AI on the workplace. She also leads Pinterest’s global Corporate Compliance and Ethics programs, including the Code of Conduct, whistleblower and reporting channels, third-party risk, anti-corruption and conflicts of interest.
Prior to Pinterest, Amira spent more than seven years at Facebook, Inc. (now Meta), most recently serving as Associate General Counsel, Labor & Employment. She began her in-house career after practicing at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where she was a Managing Associate.
Outside of her corporate role, Amira serves as Governance Committee Chair and National Board Member for Girls Leadership, a nonprofit dedicated to developing confidence and leadership in girls. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and two daughters.
Amira holds a J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law and a B.A. from UCLA.
