Speaker Bio
I am an enterprise risk and legal executive with more than 20 years of experience leading litigation strategy, operational risk management, and risk transformation across highly regulated industries, including utilities, insurance, and construction. I operate at the intersection of legal, operation, and enterprise risk, advising leadership on risk exposure, governance, insurance strategy, and resilience across large-scale infrastructure and capital programs. My experience extends beyond litigation oversight to shaping risk frameworks, risk appetite alignment and enterprise-wide risk mitigation strategies.
My legal expertise includes construction and premises liability, products liability, insurance coverage, and contractual risk transfer. I oversee matters involving significant financial, operational, and reputational risk, and partner closely with internal stakeholders to assess exposure, guide litigation and settlement strategy, and drive outcomes that balance business priorities. Through sound judgment, I take ownership of complex problems, communicate risk clearly, and work across disciplines to drive solutions that benefit the enterprise.
One of my most impactful skills is leveraging trends and outcomes to inform operational practices that reduce repeat exposure. This approach has contributed to stronger loss prevention efforts, improved documentation practices, and supports more defensible positions when incidents occur.
I stepped outside traditional legal practice to manage a team of construction risk engineers at a large insurance company. There, I led the development and implementation of a comprehensive risk prevention program for on site supervisors. The program emphasized practical, repeatable tools based on the appliable laws, and included incident reporting, and contemporaneous documentation, to materially improve claims handling and litigation outcomes. It was widely adopted and strengthened coordination between operational and legal teams. This also increased safety for on-site workers.
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership development. As an associate, then promoted to partner, at an AmLaw 100 firm, I led firmwide initiatives recognizing and elevating the contributions of women. I developed programs that gave practical goals to elevate individual contributors to management. I also created a first of its kind, Women in Construction roundtable where senior safety professionals gathered to ideate improvements in the field. I continue to mentor professionals, creating practical guides that clarify expectations for high performers and leadership readiness to support the development of future leaders within the organization.
Outside of work, I value time with my husband, 7-year-old son, and our two rescue dogs. I also enjoy CrossFit and Pilates and am an avid reader with a particular interest in true crime.
