Yani Martes is an Assistant General Counsel, Head of Legal – Capital Markets at Circle
Internet Group. She is a corporate & capital markets attorney with twenty years of first-
hand experience developing industry standards for financial products’ trading and
regulatory compliance, as well as drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and
covering cross-border legal, regulatory and policy matters.
Before joining Circle, Yani was the General Counsel and Head of Compliance at a
Fintech start-up and the Head of Legal, Americas for a retail foreign exchange dealer.
Earlier in her career, Yani was an Assistant General Counsel at the International Swaps
and Derivatives Association, Inc. (ISDA), based in the New York office, where she was
responsible for legal, regulatory and documentation projects across all asset classes.
Yani’s experience also includes structured finance and capital markets practice at law
firms in New York and as vice president at Morgan Stanley in their Institutional Equities
Division. She has also worked as a financial analyst for General Electric Co.
