Joanne Bal is the Chief Legal Officer, Corporate Secretary, and Head of Impact of Vital Farms. She joined the company in April 2021 and built the Legal and Impact teams from scratch.  Joanne has served in legal leadership positions across various industries, including as Vice President and Chief Counsel, Levi Strauss Americas at Levi Strauss, and Managing Director, Legal Services and Segment General Counsel at Applied Materials.  Joanne began her career in private practice in San Francisco, CA. She received her J.D. from the University of Chicago School of Law and her B.A. in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley.  Joanne splits her time between Austin, TX and Newport, RI.
