Jax Russo Curtin is Vice President Legal for Major League Soccer. In her role, Jax provides legal advice for all MLS departments and the MLS clubs, and partners with the senior business leaders of MLS in supporting the development of new league-wide platforms and commercial assets. Jax also structures and negotiates sponsorship, media, licensing, match promotion and other commercial agreements, as well as supporting all league intellectual property and privacy initiatives. Prior to joining MLS, Jax was the Assistant General Counsel for Heineken USA, where she provided legal support for a wide range of commercial initiatives regarding Heineken’s portfolio of beverages, and also served as the President of the Heineken Women’s Leadership Forum. Prior to joining Heineken USA, Jax was an Associate at Fross, Zelnick Lehrman & Zissu, and before her time at Fross, began her legal career at Winston & Strawn. Jax graduated in 2004 with a B.A. in History from Columbia College of Columbia University and her J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2007. She lives in Garden City, NY with her husband and two daughters.
