Emily Jackson is the Deputy General Counsel and Director of Legal (US) for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, and is currently located in Miami. Emily began her career in private practice, where she developed an extensive corporate/commercial skill set, including specialisations in intellectual property and entertainment law. She then moved in-house, working for the banking industry and specializing in digital, marketing and sponsorship. Emily has spent the last eight years working in the sports and events industry, where she fell in love with the dynamic and fast paced environment of the sporting world. Emily was headhunted to take up a role heading up the commercial legal team at Dubai Expo 2020, where she helped to navigate the commercial programme for the event through the pandemic and a year-long postponement. Emily was then appointed as the Head of Legal for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, where she helped to deliver a record-breaking and game-changing tournament closer to home. Emily is admitted in New Zealand, Victoria, Sydney and New York.
