Barbara Eustice is a lead data privacy attorney for Fannie Mae in Washington, D.C. She partners with cross-functional teams to provide guidance that advances the enterprise’s housing mission while protecting the privacy and security of consumers, partners and employees. She has expertise in drafting and negotiating data protection contract provisions, advising on policy and procedure development and training, and identifying and mitigating privacy risk in emerging technology and new initiatives.

Barbara spent the first part of her in-house career supporting Fannie Mae’s role as administrator of the U.S. government’s Making Home Affordable Program. She collaborated with business units to advise on compliance, regulatory oversight, borrower outreach campaigns, data security, policy and procedure drafting and implementation, and program wind-down.

Prior to joining Fannie Mae, Barbara was a litigation associate at Goodwin Proctor and at Jones Day, where her practice focused on consumer financial services cases, corporate disputes, and securities litigation. She also maintained an active pro bono practice, handling cases involving asylum seekers, landlord-tenant disputes, criminal appeals, and civil rights litigation.

Barbara received her B.A. from Columbia University and her J.D. from the University of Virginia. She is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, and D.C., and is an accredited Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US and CIPP/E). Barbara lives in Arlington, Virginia with her husband, three children, and dog Pippa.
