Catie Butt is the U.S. head of A&O Shearman’s Consulting group, and she leads the global Legal Function Transformation business for the firm. Catie assists clients with designing, implementing, and updating strategies and operating models (across tech/AI, processes, and people) to achieve business objectives. Select recent client engagements include accelerated post-acquisition integration of multiple companies for a single client, c-suite stakeholder interviews to inform a refreshed legal function target operating model, and creation of a new legal operations function for a high-growth company. She is recognized in the industry for her ability to leverage her wide-ranging in-house, legal service provider and consulting experiences to provide practical and proportionate assistance for transformation projects of all sizes and scale. Catie is based in A&O Shearman’s New York office and is a member of the senior leadership team.

Outside of the office she recently returned from a hiking trip in the Canadian Rockies, is helping her and her husband’s recently-adopted rescue dog Emmet settle in to his new home and routines, and is delighted to be serving as chair of her alma mater’s Women of Ohio Wesleyan (WOW) leadership committee and preparing for this year’s WOW Weekend of on-campus events in November.
