Julie Mehta is a transactional attorney and a strategic counselor leveraging 20+ years of diverse global experience in law, accounting and business to bring a multidisciplinary and balanced approach to drive growth, governance, and make an impact in for-profit and nonprofit sectors. She is currently Assistant General Counsel at Ecolab’s Nalco Water division supporting global business segments (~$1.5B—2B revenue) to drive organic and inorganic growth. She is also responsible for supporting Ecolab’s Water for Climate program and enjoys solving problems at the intersection of law, business, sustainability, and technology. She co-leads the DE&I and pro bono efforts for Ecolab’s law department. Julie started her legal career with Allstate in Investments, Corporate Securities and
Governance, and prior to her transition to the law, she spent almost a decade at Accenture in finance and corporate development.

A certified domestic violence (“DV”) counselor, Julie currently serves on the board of directors of Sarah’s Inn, a DV services organization and before that she served on the executive leadership team of Connections for Abused Women and their Children, a women’s shelter in Chicago. She has also served on the board of Legal Prep Charter Academy and the Minority In-house Counsel Association. successfully represented pro bono clients in asylum and clemency cases and volunteers for several community
causes. She received her master’s in finance and accounting from the University of Mumbai, India, and her J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law. She is fluent in French and three Indian languages. Fun fact: she is a certified French language instructor and used to be a French language instructor at the Alliance Francaise be Mumbai.
