Misty is a trusted advisor and strategic problem solver with over 20 years’ experience advising clients on employee benefits and executive compensation matters. She currently serves as Senior Counsel at Texas Instruments, where she is responsible for management and oversight of legal compliance for all global benefit plans as the company’s sole benefits attorney. She counsels senior management on critical legal concerns and strategy with a keen focus on meeting goals for hiring, engaging, and retaining great talent and creating cultures where employees can thrive.

Prior to going in-house in 2021, Misty was a partner at a boutique firm and worked at several global law firms. She has an established record of guiding clients through complex regulatory challenges, with a pragmatic, business-minded approach. Her experience includes defending complex benefit litigation matters and collaborating with corporate governance, finance, treasury, and payroll on a wide variety of concerns. She also partners with colleagues on privacy, cybersecurity, employment, tax, and other matters, pairing versatility with her ability to relate well with all levels of management and employees. Misty currently serves as a Co-Lead for Legal LoVE, the DEI Committee for TI’s Law Department and the lead for an initiative to scale the company’s HR Legal function.

Misty earned her J.D. at the Washington and Lee University School of Law and her B.A. in Economics from Millsaps College, in Jackson, Mississippi. She started her career in Washington D.C., and now lives in Dallas, Texas, with her husband, son, and daughter. She enjoys travel, reading, watching college football, and listening to podcasts.
