Ann Polus’ employment law career has spanned 30 years, beginning as an employment litigator at the Pillsbury Winthrop firm, and expanding her expertise into many facets of employment law covering several jurisdictions. Her areas of particular interest include Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives, Executive employee issues, employment law aspects of corporate transactions, and complex cross-
border projects. In her current role as global head of employment law at Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Ms. Polus provides practical high-quality advice on many sophisticated employment law matters while also leading a team of employment attorneys. Jazz Pharmaceuticals is a global biopharma company whose purpose is to innovate to transform the lives of patients and their families. Jazz Pharmaceuticals has a
diverse portfolio of marketed medicines, including leading therapies for sleep disorders and epilepsy, and a growing portfolio of cancer treatments.

Before moving in-house to Jazz Pharmaceuticals ten years ago, Ms. Polus was a Special Counsel in the Employment Law Department at Cooley LLP for sixteen years. Prior to Cooley, Ms. Polus was an employment associate at Pillsbury Winthrop. Ms. Polus holds a J.D. (cum laude and Order of the Coif) from UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) and an undergraduate degree in Social Science from the University of California, Berkeley. Her non-business interests are varied, from spending time with her family, and hobbies such as hiking with her Golden Retriever, gardening, painting and traveling.
