Devi is Associate General Counsel for Data Privacy at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association where she advises cross-functional business units on privacy risk, regulatory compliance, and cybersecurity issues. Devi has a background in health information privacy at the state and federal level along with health information technology, which allows her to provide BCBSA with strategic legal advice to achieve key business goals. More recently, Devi has worked on issues related to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and advises business clients on data use and guardrails when using AI. Devi has been able to leverage her privacy expertise to provide operational feedback on federal rulemaking on health IT, privacy, and data use. Prior to coming to BCBSA, Devi worked in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in both the Office for Civil Rights and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT where she focused on policy making related to HIPAA, mobile health apps, interoperability, and information blocking.
