Katie Race Brin is the Chief Privacy Officer at 2U, Inc., a publicly-traded education technology company that partners with top universities around the world to develop digital graduate programs, short courses, and boot camps. Katie joined 2U in February 2018 and heads the company’s global privacy program. Previously, she spent 11 years at the Federal Trade Commission, the last three of which she served as the Commission's Chief Privacy Officer. She also held various roles in the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection, where she lead law enforcement investigations of companies' privacy and data security practices. Prior to her time at the FTC, Katie worked at WilmerHale in Washington, DC and completed two federal clerkships. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and UC Berkeley Law School.
