She has served as general counsel to specific divisions of and deputy general counsel for publicly traded companies. She deals with a broad range of issues and has most recently focused on SaaS licensing, data privacy and acquisition transitions. Susan spent the first ten years of her career as a litigator and moved in-house through advising about a company project that was on the brink of a major lawsuit.

Susan was also active in the local and national bar associations. She was the editor of several books about law as a career for the American Bar Association and represented it on a national media tour. She chaired D.C.’s young lawyers’ organization and completed its D.C. Criminal Jury Instructions, the primary handbook for all local criminal cases.

She is a graduate of the UCLA School of Law and a former D.C. federal district court law clerk.

Before joining Axiom, she served as General Counsel of Enova, leading a legal department that supported Enova’s significant growth trajectory, which included operating as a public company in a regulated industry. Prior to her time at Enova, Young served for six years as Assistant General Counsel at JPMorgan Chase and spent eight years in private practice.

Said Young, “As a lawyer, a private practice alum, and a former in-house client of Axiom, I have long admired Axiom’s smart, strategic approach to revolutionizing the legal services industry. Being part of a company that is disrupting the status quo is exciting, and I’m thrilled to be joining the team as General Counsel. Axiom has proven its unique ability to help legal departments manage through change and operate more efficiently, and I look forward to using my legal expertise, and experience in-seat as a client, to support the growth and evolution of the company going forward.”
