Leigh Checchio (she, her, hers) is the General Counsel of The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) young people. As General Counsel, she oversees all legal issues and considerations at The Trevor Project, from nonprofit compliance to people operations-related legal issues to third-party contracts.
Prior to joining The Trevor Project, Leigh was the Deputy General Counsel at Droga5, an award-winning advertising agency. There, she managed all legal subject matter areas, including corporate, advertising, and HR matters. Before that, Leigh started her legal career at White & Case in the intellectual property transactions group. Leigh is a graduate of Tufts University and Harvard Law School, and spent a year studying abroad at Oxford University during college. Leigh is a member of the New York Bar and currently lives in Brooklyn.
