Erika is the global lead for the company’s privacy advocacy efforts and led the team that provides guidance and ensures compliance with privacy and data protection laws across the company’s products and services offered in North America, Latin America and the Caribbean. Erika is the former Chief Privacy and Civil Liberties Officer of the U.S. Department of Justice, where she served as the principal advisor to the Attorney General on privacy and civil liberties matters. Erika co-chaired the DOJ breach response team, and played a leadership role among executive branch agencies in drafting privacy-related legislation enacted by Congress. She received an Attorney General Award for Exceptional Contributions in Negotiating a Data Protection and Privacy Agreement with the E.U. Erika served in the Federal Trade Commission’s Division of Privacy & Identity Protection, and chaired the ABA’s Privacy & Information Security Committee. Erika currently serves on the advisory boards for the International Association of Privacy Professionals’ Women Leading Privacy and the American University Washington College of Law Technology, Law and Security Program.
