Cecil B. Lucy has served as Chief Financial Officer & General Counsel at the DuSable Museum of African American History since July 2018. Prior to this role, he served as Vice President of Administration and Finance and Interim President of Chicago State University from 2015 to 2017 where he was instrumental in creating a sustainable business model during the state of Illinois’ historic budget impasse. Mr. Lucy also held prior financial leadership roles with Tuskegee University, the National Black MBA Association, Landmark Incentive Marketing, the Citizenship Education Fund, and Ada S. McKinley Community Services. He started his career with the public accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Mr. Lucy is a licensed attorney at law in the state of Illinois and a Registered Public Accountant in the state of Illinois. Mr. Lucy has a lifetime membership with the University of Illinois Alumni Association and the National Black MBA Association. He is a member of the Gies College of Business Alumni Association Board of the University of Illinois and is active with the Illinois Black Alumni Network. Mr. Lucy is a member of the American Bar Association, American Institute of CPA, and the Illinois CPA Society. Mr. Lucy was born and reared in the city of Chicago and holds a B.S. degree in accountancy, an MBA in leadership, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
