Tami Horton is Chief Compliance Counsel and Privacy Officer at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA). With almost 20 years of experience, Tami has a rich background as a legal and business partner and advisor focused on regulatory law and ethics.

Prior to joining CTCA, Tami served as General Counsel and Chief Privacy and Compliance Officer for Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI), one of the largest independent physician practices in the country, where she was responsible for establishing the legal and compliance departments. In that role, Tami led IBJI’s legal team in its successful participation as an early awardee in the CMS Bundled payment for Care Improvement Initiative Program. Previously, she was an associate at Mayer Brown in Chicago.

Tami is a frequent speaker about compliance related topics and value-based payment models. Tami has presented at national and regional conferences, including multiple presentations at the American Health Lawyer Association’s Annual Meetings and Hospitals and Health Systems Law Institute. She was the primary author of the American Health Lawyer Association’s Compliance Program for Physician Practices Toolkit.

Tami earned a J.D. with Honors from The Law School at the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s Degree magna cum laude and with Honors form the University of Michigan. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She is also certified in Healthcare Compliance by the Health Care Compliance Association.
