No longer relegated to simply running the legal department, today's GCs often find themselves with a seat at the executive table, increasingly responsible for enhancing the business and helping to develop financial and risk management strategies for the long-term. As a result of these increased responsibilities, GCs are in a unique position to make a real contribution to the direction of the company, and by building relationships with employees, stakeholders and clients, GCs can better understand the business as a whole. In this open discussion, GCs and in-house counsel will reflect on strategies for relationship building that they have used to engage internal stakeholders, empowering strong lines of communication between the legal team and the business.
