As Head of Government Affairs for Microsoft in the Gulf region, Hazar leads the policy and government outreach activities across the region supporting governments and sector regulators in their efforts to create world-class technology-empowering policies, regulations, and governing frameworks focusing on Cloud, VoIP, Data Privacy and Protection, Open Data and Data Sharing as well as AI Governance and Ethics.
Prior to joining Microsoft in 2017, Hazar has held several management positions across different
industries including Information Technology, Telecommunications, Financial Services, Private and Public equities, and Logistics. Her experience includes heading corporate affairs and communications in different organisations such as Nokia Siemens Networks, Visa International, and FedEx Express.
Hazar holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. She is a Founding Member of the Smart Dubai AI Ethics Board, and a member of the Global Governance of AI Framework as well as the UAE Telecommunication Regulatory Authority’s Cloud Forum.
