Merinda is the Legal, Risk, and Compliance Counsel at mycar Tyre & Auto, an Australian based, company owned, chain of stores selling tyres and automotive servicing and repair work. mycar is on a mission to shake up the way automotive services are provided to put the customer at the centre of everything it does. Merinda’s role includes compliance responsibility for privacy, whistleblower protection, antibribery and corruption, modern slavery reporting, competition, fair trading, and roadworthy compliance and she has regular interaction with a range of regulators. She is the Secretary of the Risk & Audit Committee, the Management Compliance Committee, and the Crisis Planning & Response Team. She set up and chairs the Modern Slavery Working Group and set up and sits on the Responsible Business Group. Merinda routinely advises on a range of legal, risk and compliance issues. Prior to mycar, Merinda spent 13 years as the lawyer for the lawyers, leading the inhouse legal & risk function for Australia and the Middle East at a global law firm. In her free time she provides pro-bono uber services to her three children and their extensive extra-curricular activities.
