The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) took effect in May 2018. While there has been a measurable increase in reports of data breaches since the GDPR’s implementation, there are still shortcomings that need to be addressed. As companies have to grapple with different regulations concerning data privacy, they also need to expect that European regulators will dole out higher fines on companies that violate GDPR. This session will address GDPR’s successes and failures, and what new developments and regulations are still to come.
