Carmel Samimi has many years’ experience as a senior leader and lawyer within multinationals working across different markets in Africa and the United Kingdom. She is the Legal Director, Africa for Reckitt Benckiser, a consumer healthcare multinational. Carmel holds several legal qualifications including an LLM in Commercial Law and she has spent most of her career working for Large FMCG Multinationals. She has been a coach and mentor to professionals for a number of years and counts this aspect of her career as the most rewarding. Carmel describes herself as a lifelong learner and she is passionate about supporting people from underprivileged communities to embrace education. Given her multicultural background she established a flagship women’s leadership platform that has transformed the careers and lives of women in corporate South Africa and she continues to fulfil her passion by delivering leadership talks as often as she can under the Edit Grow Africa organisation.
