Nigel Mifsud is Butterfield’s Group Head of Legal for Trust, having been promoted from VP, Senior Strategic Relationships in Q4 2024. Nigel is also responsible for building and enhancing relationships with clients and their advisers across all Group Trust jurisdictions.

Nigel joined Butterfield in 2023 and has over 20 years of senior experience in the trust industry, having most recently worked for Credit Suisse in Zurich and Guernsey. He began his career as a Barrister after being called to the Bar of England and Wales and later the Gibraltar Bar.

Nigel has been a Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) member since 2008. Bilingual in English and Spanish, he also speaks French and some Italian.
