In private practice, Stephen developed a strong combination of corporate transactional skills as well as regulatory and compliance expertise. In addition to capital formation, he has substantial experience advising on private merger and acquisition transactions and corporate governance. He is a leading advisor to MNCs in the areas of international trade regulation, such as economic sanctions and export controls, as well as CFIUS, FCPA and anti-money laundering. Stephen assisted companies to design and implement internal controls and compliance programmes to protect international business. As a partner, he represented more than 50 companies in the United States, Greater China, Southeast Asia and India in addressing regulatory and compliance issues while in pre-IPO or IPO fundraising since January 2017.
