Jo-Ann David is the Chief Legal Counsel of Mondelez International’s Sub-Saharan African business.
An experienced legal professional, Jo-Ann believes that in house legal excellence is premised on
curiosity, proactive stakeholder engagement and managing the balance between an “art of the
possible” mindset with robust legal and compliance risk management.
Jo-Ann has a diverse range of legal experience, having worked in private practice and for
multinational corporations in the FMCG and oil and gas sectors. She has lived and worked in Beijing
and Houston.
Jo-Ann is enthusiastic about learning and development and considers the mutual learning
experience of coaching and mentoring female in house legal professionals as one of the ways in
which to foster a greater sense of purpose in her work.
Jo-Ann is a self-described bibliophile and is also an avid consumer of Adam Grant’s Work Life, Harriet
Gilbert’s World Book Club and the Quartz Obsession podcasts, amongst too many others. She is also
a reluctant runner, thanks to a boisterous Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
