Bertrandt started off in private practice and went on to serve a succession of engineering and high technology companies as in-house counsel. During his career he’s served on local, regional and international executive teams of companies listed in South Africa, Germany, the US, and the UK, and he has led local and international legal and cross-functional teams from diverse backgrounds, with
both matrixed and direct reporting responsibility.

Bertrandt is currently the Legal Director, Global for BT’s Business unit, leading a multifunctional legal, regulatory, risk, compliance and corporate governance function across the world. He’s also double hats as the country manager for BT’s Business unit in Sub-Sahara Africa, leading cross-functional teams delivering services to multi-national customers across Sub-Saharan Africa.
