Christine Kamugisha is the Legal Executive for Lactalis South Africa and serves on the boards of several Lactalis entities across South Africa, Mozambique, Zambia, Eswatini, and Botswana. She is also the Company Secretary for all South African group entities and is responsible for overseeing the group's legal affairs, corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters, including those relating to the nutritional business under SANULAC.
In addition to her executive responsibilities within the Lactalis group, Christine serves as Chairperson of the Corporate Counsel Association, where she plays a leading role in advancing the interests and professional development of in-house counsel.
Christine is a Certified Director through the Institute of Directors in the United Kingdom and holds both a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Her expertise spans corporate governance, commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, board advisory, risk management, and cross-border legal operations across multiple African jurisdictions. She is widely recognised for her ability to align legal strategy with business objectives while maintaining high standards of governance and ethical leadership.
Her leadership experience encompasses board governance, company secretarial practice, mergers and acquisitions, competition law, commercial contracting, compliance programmes, and stakeholder engagement at executive and board level.
