Dr. Howard Snoyman is an ethicist and an admitted attorney of the High Court in South Africa. He serves as the Head of Legal and Ethics at Discovery Health Medical Scheme, South Africa’s largest healthcare insurer, where he oversees a multitude of operational, regulatory and governance functions. He holds LLB, MSc. Med and PhD degrees, as well as professional accreditations as a Certified Ethics Officer, Certified Deal Architect, and Certified Fraud Examiner. Howard Chairs the South African Association for Bioethics and Health Law, and is due to co-Chair the World Congress for Medical Law in August 2027. He also serves as a Board member of the Marketing Code Authority and was recently appointed to the International Committee on Global Bioethics. Past appointments include having served two terms on IRBA’s statutory Committee for Auditor Ethics.
