Bobby Bean is a managing director at FORVIS with the firm’s financial services consulting group. Bobby serves FORVIS clients nationwide by helping them navigate the changing regulatory and economic environment. He assists clients in understanding regulatory and supervisory requirements and expectations and in optimizing governance, risk management and compliance strategies and processes.

Prior to FORVIS, Bobby spent more than 30 years at the FDIC, most recently as the Deputy Director of the Division of Risk Management Supervision and head of the Capital Markets and Accounting Policy Branch. In addition, he served as a member of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and as a member of the Network for Greening the Financial System. Bobby held leadership roles in international and domestic policy development, and in implementation of the Basel II and Basel III risk-based capital requirements, market risk capital requirements, liquidity requirements, and other capital markets-related regulations and guidance. His role at the FDIC also extended to the development of regulations and guidance to implement the regulatory reforms required by the Dodd-Frank Act, such as the OTC Derivatives reform and the Volcker Rule ban on proprietary trading and hedge fund investments.
