Greg is a partner with FORVIS in the accounting & auditing professional standards group with more than 30 years of accounting and auditing experience. Greg’s primary areas of responsibility have been in financial instrument accounting (including debt/equity financings and derivatives/hedging), revenue recognition, business combinations, consolidations, and share-based payment arrangements. He is currently primarily responsible for standards promulgated by FASB, with additional focus on the financial services and insurance industries, as well as practice matters involving registrants with the SEC. He joined FORVIS’ assurance practice in 2020 following his retirement as a national office partner with an international firm. Greg has served on several technical accounting working groups for FASB, FASB’s Emerging Issues Task Force, and the AICPA. He served as a professional accounting fellow in the SEC’s office of the chief accountant in Washington, D.C., and early in his career was a postgraduate technical assistant on the research and technical activities staff at FASB. Greg is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate with highest distinction of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a B.S.B.A. degree and an M.Acc. degree.
