Corey Pfeifer is a Tax Partner in the Financial Services group at Crowe, where he leads the delivery of strategic tax consulting and compliance services to financial institutions across the country. With over 17 years of experience in the financial services tax industry, Corey has advised a wide range of clients—from regional banks to multi-state, publicly traded institutions with multi-billion-dollar balance sheets.

Corey began his career at Crowe immediately after college, initially based in Indianapolis before relocating to New York to support the firm’s expanding Northeast tax practice. He now leads Crowe’s Mid-Atlantic financial services tax practice and co-leads the Southeast financial services tax practice from Charlotte, North Carolina.

Throughout his career, Corey has specialized in tax planning strategy development, ASC 740 (accounting for income taxes), M&A due diligence and tax accounting, equity-based compensation taxation, federal and state tax credits, and navigating complex multi-state tax issues. His depth of experience and leadership make him a trusted advisor to clients navigating a dynamic regulatory landscape.

Corey is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in New York, Washington, D.C., and North Carolina. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).
