Terry is a tax partner with over 25 years of experience serving the financial institutions industry, located in Eide Bailly, LLP’s office in Des Moines, Iowa. During his career he has worked with banks ranging in size from $25 million in assets to publicly traded banks with over $12 billion in assets. He currently represents over 50 community bank clients across the Midwest ranging from $50 million to $1.5 billion in assets.

Terry’s work with community banks primarily includes tax planning and compliance for C-corporation and S-corporation banks, mergers and acquisition transaction consulting, financial accounting for income taxes, and research on state income and sales tax matters. Terry is a member of Eide Bailly’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan specialty group and is the primary tax resource on ESOP’s to Eide Bailly’s financial institutions service group. He has assisted in the implementation or continued tax compliance of leveraged and non-leveraged ESOP transactions for over 25 banks with purchase commitments from 10% of ownership up to 100% ownership, including associated transitions of C-corporation to / from S-corporation based upon tax advantages desired by bank management and ownership.
