John Tam leads the Firm’s Los Angeles International Tax Practice as well as RSM’s west region inbound practice. He has over 36 years of experience as a tax advisor in a variety of international tax practice areas, including IP migration strategies, cross border financing strategies involving hybrid instruments / entities, BEAT, GILTI, FDII, transfer pricing, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border tax and treaty
planning, international compliance and general corporate tax planning. John also has experience in a variety of industries, including financial services, media and entertainment, pharma, technology, consumer products, life sciences and engineering and construction.
Early in his career, John practiced as an international tax partner in two Big Four accounting firm, and spent several years in a Big Four national office role. He is also responsible for fostering a group culture, developing and coaching partners and staff, recruiting, and monitoring the practice’s performance.
