Russell Phillips is a Partner in CohnReznick's Bethesda office. He has over five years of private accounting and more than 20 years of public accounting experience, providing client services in the areas of audit, reviews, accounting, tax, and management advisory services. This experience includes work for general contractors, subcontractors, commercial and residential real estate developers, management companies, and tax-advantaged multifamily affordable housing projects.

Russ performs quality control reviews for a majority of the Firm's Washington, DC contractor clients. Some of his industry-related clients include Clark Realty Capital, a national developer and contractor of housing where he performs a consolidated audit and tax preparation, The Meridian Group, where he audits the assets of their private equity funds, and The Community Builders, a large not-for-profit affordable housing developer for which he provides audit, tax, cost certification, and transaction services to their portfolio of more than 200 properties.

Russ is responsible for all aspects of audit and management advisory service engagements including planning and coordination with clients’ finance and management personnel. His other duties include determination of audit scope, selection of procedures, staff supervision, work paper review, and identification, resolution, and summarization of audit issues.

Russ is a 2005 graduate of Leadership Montgomery and has served on its audit committee. Additionally, he is the board president of Housing Unlimited Inc., a local not-for-profit that provides affordable, independent housing to adults with psychiatric disabilities.
