Chris Saveri is a Hoboken, NJ based senior manager working in EY’s Financial Services Office, with a focus in the Banking and Capital Markets and Fintech industries. His primary clients include US corporations, financial services and technology companies, US and inbound banks, and joint venture partnerships. He also participates in EY’s Metro New York Fintech initiative and represents the firm at various internal and external events. • Chris has a wide range of experience in accounting for income tax, and has participated as a tax reviewer in a diverse range of external audits varying from broker dealers, financial services companies, Fintech start-ups and established companies, and banks. • Chris works closely with EY’s National Tax Office and Center of Excellence with respect to the taxation of virtual currency and considerations for this new asset class. He has led technical sessions at several internal and external events, including EY’s Global Blockchain Summit, Domestic Tax Conference and Executive Tax Update. He has advised clients on the tax treatment of virtual currency, including potential planning opportunities, information reporting and withholding, international structuring, state and local implications, and classification. • Chris also has experience with corporate tax compliance, and has managed tax compliance engagements for various US and multinational companies. He has worked closely with his clients' tax and finance departments in order to understand the functions and needs of his clients on a day to day basis. In addition, Chris assists clients with various tax advisory matters. • Chris has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy, with a minor in Business Law and Corporate Governance, from Villanova University. Chris is also a Certified Public Accountant in both states of New York and New Jersey, and is a member of the AICPA, NYS Society of CPAs, and NJ Society of CPAs.
