• Ethan Schiffman is a Principal at Ernst & Young LLP in the Financial Services Organization’s Tax group. Ethan has over 20 years of technical tax, financial accounting and tax risk management experience in financial services.
• Ethan works with financial services clients on a variety of matters. Ethan has extensive experience advising on strategic transactions, leading tax transformation initiatives, developing and implementing global tax transfer pricing policy and managing tax policy and controversy matters. His experience reflects a comprehensive lifecycle approach to transactions, products and advice, from inception through audit defense.
• Before joining EY, Ethan was the Global Head of Tax at Morgan Stanley. He served in various senior roles during his 17 years with the firm, including a term as Deputy Global Head of Tax as a Managing Director. Previously, Ethan also served as Director and Senior Tax Counsel with Deutsche Bank A.G. and as a tax associate with Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP.
• Ethan received a Bachelor of Arts in Government, with distinction in all subjects, from Cornell University, a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Harvard Law School and an LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law.
